More than 100 copper wire theft incidents have been reported in City Council District 5 since last July. Copper wire was stolen earlier this month during a burglary at a construction site in Westwood, adding to a list of dozens of copper wire theft incidents reported in the area since last July.

Copper crooks strike again along Highway 168

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Caltrans is once again playing catch up after being hit by copper thieves. The latest area to get hit is along Highway 168 between Fowler and Temperance. That’s where wires were cut, impacting landscaping systems and possibly lighting.

Copper wire theft up 300 percent

LUBBOCK,TX (KCBD) Thieves are becoming more creative these days, it seems. According to Lt. Bryan Taylor with the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department, new home constructions and county farms are becoming victim to copper wire theft, which has increased more than 300% in the last year alone.
